Šejla Softić was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina, raised in Austria and is now based in Luxembourg.

Her dance pieces are being brought to life by dancers of every age, gender, nationality and artistic background. They are characterized by a courageous creativity and serve as a bridge between Modern Contemporary Dance and Commercial Choreography. The dancer is always at the heart of her creation while dance as an art form is bravely merged with foreign disciplines.

In her pedagogical work she likes to explore alternative approaches to existing traditional methods of dance education and dance training.
